Version 2.0 is now ready for download...

Find NPI numbers and other provider info fast

We mean really fast. Tired of waiting for the CMS NPI web site? That is, when it's actually working. Now you'll have the database right on your hard drive no waiting for CMS or anybody else. If you live in a state with a mid-size population, you'll get results in less than a second. Larger states like California and New York take just a smidgin longer. And you can use wildcards, and select "start of field" or "any part of field." Yeah, powerful.

If you're a regular user of UPIN registries, NPI directories and such, how about putting it together in one place right on your desktop? Remember the days of CMS's old Medicare UPIN registry at www.cms.hhs.gov/upin? Alas, it's gone now, but if you're looking for a UPIN, you want it so you can get to a doctor's NPI.  That's why we let you use UPINs and other identifiers to look up physicians on NPIdentify Desktop. If the doc listed a UPIN on their NPPES record, you can just type it in and pull up the full record.  Same goes for other identifiers, too, like OSCARs and Medicaid numbers. Then you can click Copy, Email or Print, and get all the details you need.

NEW WITH V2: Choose "Find" or "Sift"

Choose the Find feature to search for listings matching your criteria in context, or use the new Sift feature to display all listings that match your criteria as a group. Print, email, even export sifted records!

Check for the most up-to-the-minute data

Every listing in NPIdentify Desktop has a live link to the CMS web site, so you can check to see if a provider has updated its/her/his information more recently than your NPIdentify date. You get the best of both worlds: Fast NPI lookups, plus a ready link to double check the NPPES data if you like.*

Print it

You can send a listing instantly to your printer.*

Copy it to the clipboard

You can copy a listing to the Windows clipboard, and then paste it into a document.

Email it

You can email a provider's listing or your own to whoever needs it, without ever leaving NPIdentify Desktop.*

NEW WITH V2: Export it

Now with Version 2 you can mark multiple records for printing, emailing and exporting as a group.

* Some details: NPIdentify Desktop is just for the Windows® operating system; and you'll want to make sure you have the necessary system requirements. Not every provider has supplied every data element to the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), the provider database at Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). NPIdentify is not responsible for the public availability, completeness or accuracy of the information in the NPPES data file; review the disclaimer here. So some records won't have one or more of the elements listed above. NPIdentify's direct links to the CMS online data are not guaranteed to work at all times, as the CMS site is outside of our control. To print a listing you must have a default printer attached to your computer. To email a listing you need a default email client program (such as Microsoft Outlook) configured.
